INBIT Designated as WHO Collaborating Centre

INBIT, a valued GCEA member, has been designated as a WHO Collaborating Centre, recognising its excellence in medical equipment management and global health support.

The Global Clinical Engineering Alliance (GCEA) is proud to highlight a significant achievement by one of its members, the Institute of Biomedical Technology (INBIT).

INBIT has been officially designated by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a WHO Collaborating Centre for Medical Equipment Management and Assessment (Ref. GRE-36), as communicated by WHO on 3 March 2026. This designation recognises INBIT’s long-standing contribution to biomedical engineering and its expertise in the management and assessment of medical equipment.

The Centre will operate under the leadership of Professor Nicolas Pallikarakis and Dr Aris Dermitzakis, further reinforcing INBIT’s role in supporting healthcare systems through scientific excellence, technical expertise, and international collaboration.

This four-year designation (February 2026 – February 2030) represents both an honour and a responsibility, aligning with WHO’s expectations for collaborating centres to deliver high-quality, impactful work in support of global health priorities.

As a valued member of GCEA, INBIT continues to exemplify leadership and innovation in clinical engineering. This recognition reflects not only the Institute’s achievements but also the strength and impact of the broader GCEA community in advancing healthcare technology worldwide.

GCEA extends its warmest congratulations to the INBIT team and looks forward to continued collaboration in promoting excellence in clinical engineering and healthcare technology.
